The league discipline process is totally a joke. Why don't they just make it fair? Wipe the slate clean for everyone and set a pre-incident punishment plan in place. If you hit someone from behind into the boards it doesn't matter if you're Pat Kaleta or Pat Kane you get 3 games first offense, 10 for second offense and the rest of the season for a third offense in the same season. Same scale for hits to the head. Slashing incidents could be 1, 3 and 5 per offense. Anything that is particularly egregious could be supplemented with a fine and the player gets the hearing to plead their case. Simple.

By the way, Cats beat the Pens 6-3 tonight. It looks like we may be all alone in the basement. They aren't nearly as bad as we are.

Of course, Shanny has lost all credibility by this point. Two handed Axe-Swings a la Kessel deserve no suspension yet Kaleta's glancing inadvertent head shot will get him 5 plus games. The last suspension on Richards NYR was very questionable, but at least there was some method of injury on that play. Garage league......

Not only is Kaleta a repeat offender and a world class douche, but he offers nothing to the Sabres and even less to the league, thus making him the perfect clown to make an example of whether he deserves it or not.

Sabres fans should be rejoicing that this idiot won't be wasting a roster spot and in turn providing a great opportunity for some of the younger guys to get some additional playing time and experience.

Nobody will miss this guy, NOBODY!

This will be Kaleta's 3rd suspension in 3 straight years, I don't understand why anyone thinks the amount of games should be low even if there were no injuries.

Kaleta does not belong in this league.

I hope that someday this league will be free of players like him and goons like Jay Rosehill for the Flyers.

If a kid like Zac Rinaldo can clean up his game I don't understand why guys like Kaleta keep targeting the head of other players.
